Hi,

I have a toshiba laptop which I think came off the arc!! I've got lots of photos and music on it and am worried that if it blows up then I'll lose everything! What would you recommend? I'm thinking of getting an external drive to put everything on.

Thanks

Hi there,
It's a good idea to have a backup of everything onto a seperate hard drive....
What i would suggest is get the biggest external hard drive that you can afford, having said that being as you say that your laptop is old, i would suggest that you look into getting either a USB2 or Firewire card for the laptop first as you probably have the older USB1 ports which are pretty slow...Once you have the card...either (USB2/Firewire) you then know which hard drive to look out for relative to the ports on the card....if that makes sense!
